Golf. The Gentleman’s game. A timeless sport of champions where glory is achieved and friendships forged. Also, a justification for that indented portion of your trunk’s wall.
Summer is just around the corner, and golf is really starting to get into the swing of things. What better way to celebrate a long weekend than with the 27th annual Rex Hospital Open. For almost three decades now, TPC at Wakefield Plantation has played host to an ever-growing and ever-exciting spectacle that draws top prospective talent and plenty of crowds. It’s such a landmark event on the PGA Tour that it has actually outgrown the golf course’s capacity for onlookers, but hosting it anywhere else simply would not do.
A part of the Web.com Tour, this tournament is part of a series that feeds future pros into the vaunted Professional Golfers’ Association. Spectators come not only for a love of the game but also to witness the birth of new stars.
Leith BMW is proud to sponsor the Rex Hospital Open once again, alongside several other members of the Leith family of dealerships. We see this event as a chance to support a great cause in addition to the time-honored display of talent and sportsmanship inherent to the game.
Events kicked off yesterday with the Open Junior Invitational, won by Grant Houser and Alex Smalley. The Rex Hospital Tournament Pro-Am will be going on tomorrow and Wednesday alongside practice rounds. During the Pro-Am, amateur players will have the opportunity to compete alongside professionals. Then on Thursday, the tournament proper will begin, playing through until Sunday afternoon when a winner is decided and the trophy presented.
