2014 NAIAS: Detroit Auto Show Recap and Recognitions

As the 2014 North American International Auto Show moves into its second week and opens to the public, we want to make good on industry coverage from the first week. It’s high time to collect the recognitions amassed by BMW, and while we can’t take credit for the cars that were honored, we can still celebrate. We’ll do so by sharing this video of the BMW M4 Coupe tearing up the test track and running through the lists it made.

First, the 2015 M4 made Motor Trend’s “Top 10 Best Driver’s Car Prospects,” topping the list at number one. MT is impressed by the lighter, more powerful M4 with performance stats that will take a Porsche to task. The 2014 BMW M235i also made the same list, coming in at number two as a more affordable option for drivers who still want to sling an ultimate driving machine around the track.

Next, the M4 shares a slot with the 2015 BMW M3 Sedan on Car and Driver’s list of “7 Cars We (and You) Can’t Wait to Drive.” The two new M series have been side by side for much of their debut, so it only makes sense that they share a slot on this list.

Similarly and finally, both cars also made Car and Driver’s “12 Hottest Debuts of the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.” What else can we say? When you’re hot, you’re hot.

Watch that video if you haven’t already, and if you have any questions about the new M’s, leave them in the comments.
